Project overview
A full electrical inspection was followed by a complete rewire and a new consumer unit, finished ahead of schedule alongside building work, plus later small jobs and an emergency call-out.
This project was carried out by our partner electrician, G&M Electrics Ltd. We've written it up from what the customer said in their review, which is quoted in full below.
The job
What the customer needed
The customer first had an outside light replaced and a Ring doorbell installed. A full electrical inspection then showed a rewire and new consumer unit were needed.
What was done
- Replaced an outside light and box
- Installed a Ring doorbell system
- Carried out a full electrical inspection
- Completed the rewire and new consumer unit earlier than expected, working alongside other trades
- Sent daily progress reports
- Later attended an emergency call-out and fixed the electrical sockets
“Highly recommend G&M Electrics if you want a job well done, on time and at a reasonable price. Gavin has replaced an outside light and box, installed a Ring doorbell system and carried out a full electrical inspection prior to rewiring and installing a new consumer unit later this year. Gavin ensures all work is completed as expected, keeping me updated and informed at every stage. September 2024: rewire completed as planned. Thanks to Gavin’s and Mike’s hard work this was completed earlier than expected. They were a pleasure to have around and worked alongside other trades to allow building works to get ahead of schedule. Completely trustworthy, open and professional. Excellent communication with daily reports, leaving me a very satisfied customer. Thank you G&M Electrics! February 2026: following an emergency call-out, Gavin soon diagnosed the problem, fixed the electrical sockets and tested all was working before leaving. So pleased to recommend such a reliable and friendly service.”
About this type of work
A rewire is often done during wider building work, while floors and walls are already open. Planning it alongside the other trades keeps disruption down and can bring the whole project forward.
