Project overview
Two customers who were new to electric vehicles had chargers installed, with the electrician advising on charger choice and dealing with National Grid on their behalf.

What the customer needed
The customer had no previous experience of EV chargers or installations and needed guidance through the whole process.
What was done
- Advised on the best EV charger units to choose
- Handled communication with National Grid, including updating the fuses
- Completed the installation on the day without disruption

About this type of work
Before a home charger is fitted, the network operator may need to be told about it, and sometimes the main fuse needs upgrading. In South Wales that is National Grid Electricity Distribution. An installer who handles the notification saves the customer from dealing with it themselves.
