Project overview
A full electrical check of a newly bought house, with a clearer and more competitive quote than the customer’s previous inspector had given.
This project was carried out by our partner electrician, G&M Electrics Ltd. We've written it up from what each customer said in their reviews, which are quoted in full below.
Job 1 of 2
What the customer needed
The customers had just moved into a new house and wanted the electrics checked. A previous inspector had already quoted, but had missed some points.
What was done
- Inspected the electrics in the new house
- Picked up points the previous inspector had missed
- Quoted for the work and finished it in less time than predicted
“We've recently moved into a new house and had Gavin come and check it out. He gave us a much better quote than a previous inspector had given us with points that were missed out. He has been quick to respond to any queries and did the job in less time than predicted. He was friendly, efficient and incredibly helpful. I would definitely reccomend this company again.”
Job 2 of 2
Another customer, a similar job
Another customer had just moved into a new home and had no idea about the state of its electrics.
What was done
- Carried out an EICR assessment
- Explained the findings clearly and honestly
- Prepared a quote for follow-on work
“I found Gavin on Checkatrade. He contacted me in reply to a job I posted. We chose to go with Gavin as he was easy to contact and responded to all the details we advertised in the job. He came to our new home and undertook an EICR assessment. We had absolutely no idea about electrics in our new home but he was clear, honest, and personable. We're now waiting for a quote from Gavin for more work and we would absolutely recommend him. Thank you!!”
About this type of work
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is one of the most useful checks after buying a home. It shows the condition of the wiring, protective devices and earthing, and grades any defects by urgency so you know what needs doing first.
