Project overview
An ancient fuse board was replaced with a new RCBO board, and the customer booked further work for extra sockets and a supply for a lit mirror cabinet.
This project was carried out by our partner electrician, G&M Electrics Ltd. We've written it up from what the customer said in their review, which is quoted in full below.
The job
What the customer needed
The property still had an ancient fuse board that needed replacing.
What was done
- Fitted a new RCBO board in place of the old one
- Left the installation tidy and working
- Gave advice on small jobs the customer wanted to try themselves
“Brilliant communication, tidy job and helpful with advice on small jobs I want to try myself. Had a new RCBO board fitted to replace an ancient one and it's all looking tidy and working well. I would recommend and am already booking them again for further electric work - fitting additional plug sockets and feeding a live cable into the bathroom wall so I can install a mirror cabinet with lights. Thanks Gavin 👍🏻”
About this type of work
An RCBO board gives each circuit its own combined overload and residual current protection, so a fault on one circuit does not cut power to the rest of the house. Replacing a consumer unit is notifiable work and must be tested and certified.
